I've been planning a respray for a while, prompted by some bits of rust and the mismatch in colour on the front wing, and I decided that it's going to be orange.
Fitted the new mirrors and the body stripes purchased during the L2B, now I just need to do some tinkering with the carb to get it running a bit better.
Exhaust has been off again to fit exhaust wrap and run it properly, I had a problem with the battery cable melting. Rear brakes are now done.
Minispares heated inlet manifold, maniflow LCB header and Fletcher DTM exhaust all fitted, rear wheel cylinders and bearings to renew as well.
Loosened off the front calipers and fitted EBC pads and swapped for summer wheels, welded up the driver's door/window joint and replaced the old and knackered door cards with carbon fibre ones.
Some elbow grease, colour cut and wax restore the paintwork to a shiny red. However it does also mean that I've had a better look at the paintwork, which will need some rather more intesive efforts in the near future - next winter maybe!
Went for the besiktning today and did better than I was expecting, failed on the brakes, it's binding on the front and rear left, and right rear doesn't do anything. So complete overhaul of the brake system needed and a re-test within a month.
It's been too cold for weeks to do anything much, but I have managed to change the front dampers and installed the electronic ignition. Static timing is done and then adjusted with a timing light. The bestikning never happened as my daughter was ill but it's now rebooked for Thursday.
Rear Suspension dampers replaced. A balmy -1/-2 meant that with the aid of a heater I got out to the workshop to replace the rear dampers with adjustable GAZ ones. Also decided to declare it back on road from Monday next week, insure it and book the besiktning for Wednesday 18th Feb. I know the horn needs sorting before then and for the rest I think I may wait and see what it fails on, if anything, before doing too much more.

I have good intentions to start with the rear suspension within the next few days - that is if my daughter will let me!.
I used my newly purchased trailer for the first time, drove about 260kms round trip, the trailer was fine and I got the mini home in one piece, and it only took about 4 hours.
Once offloaded and in the garage I had a good look around - no suprises apart from it has got winter tyres - which is good news. Started to restore the paintwork on the roof and bonnet, so far so good but lots more rubbing and polishing to do! Changed the air filter to my preferred K&N cone one and changed the HT Leads for a spare "performance" set I had anyway.

Drove to Hallsthammar on the far side of Västerås to see the car this evening. Overall it looks in pretty good shape considering the age and previous experiences with Swedish mini's, some surface rust around the rear windows, the paintwork is very dull, but the engine sounds and looks fine, the rear suspension needs replacing but the subframes look OK. I put a deposit down and agreed to pick it up on sunday, I promised myself I wasn't going to get another project and I really don't think this is one!
